I am excited to present a small sampling of my most recent body of work, “The Wild West” painted from 2021 - 2024. From recent travels through Mexico, Arizona, California, Washington and Oregon, this series of original pastel paintings are all done on 18” x 24” or 19” x 25” LaCarte sanded paper using chalk pastel. COPPER & LEATHER WORKS - my little love story.
One at a time, one of a kind, by Carrie. I use my linocut blocks to emboss into the leather designs I create. My copper and stainless steel designs are laser cut. I patinate them by hand using eco-friendly ingredients, and hand form & pound them into their own unique shapes. No two are alike. Varying sizes. Some are combined with leather.
My early years as a graphic artist led to art school and printmaking. Not having carved a block in years, I was happily commissioned by Mt. Hood Cultural Center and Museum to create a donor gift for a capitol expansion project for their museum. I designed the 8” x 8” block below (below left), and created a limited edition of 50 signed and numbered prints.
